This black and white inspired wedding at Houston Hall in West Village was everything and more! Jenna and Craig had the sweetest first look, we explored the streets nearby for some fun editorial photos and the night ended with some truly epic dancing and the funniest speeches.

With so many couples choosing to reimagine their wedding celebrations in 2020 and opting for outdoor ceremonies and tented receptions I thought it would be the perfect time to remember some of the beautiful backyard weddings I got to document in the past couple of years. This is a reminder that your own backyard can certainly be a beautiful place to gather but also gives you the freedom to be imaginative and creative. From lawn games to chilling by a pool with your guests to serving beers from a back of an old truck having a backyard wedding gives you so many opportunities to do it your way!

Finally sharing this special celebration of Ashley and Julia in Brooklyn Historical Society. It was a laid back day exploring Brooklyn with these two and their bridal party followed by a beautiful ceremony set in a library room of the Historical Society building. From the moment I met Ashley and Julia at a coffee shop I felt so connected to their love story and their wedding day turned out to be full of so many touching emotional moments. Had a privilege to document this super classy and beautifully put together celebration of Megan and Corinne last June at my neighborhood Brooklyn Botanic Garden! The Palm House as always provided a perfect setting for a fun party and, of course, we were able to explore the lush grounds for wedding photos earlier in the day.
Their wedding date also happened to be the first day of Pride Month! It is always such an honor to support same sex couples and document all kinds of love! Thank you Corinne and Megan for having me along for the ride:)

Read MoreBrooklyn Winery Wedding - Gina & Oli
I absolutely love the way Gina and Oli talk about each other!
Oliver loves Gina’s compassion and empathy where no one else would have it, her fierce loyalty to everyone and everything she loves; her classic, timeless beauty, her ability to tolerate him and everything that makes him intolerable, and her relentless love and support that he can always depend on.
Gina adores Oli’s seemingly endless supply of drive and passion; how he never gives up, even when a situation feels hard or hopeless. His insatiable curiosity and just how incredibly smart he is. His tenacity for adventure, willingness to take risks, and ability to admit and forgive mistake whether they're mine or his. She loves his effortless style and confidence, as well as his ability to lift her up and make her feel whole, heard and special.
Their wedding turned out to be the most elegant laid back celebration at one of my all time favorite venues in Brooklyn - Brooklyn Winery. The space is absolutely gorgeous with it’s green wooden walls and industrial brewery backdrops!
Read MoreThe Water Witch Club, Highlands NJ Wedding Photos - Amy & Rob
I’ve had a fair share of extreme weather weddings but Amy and Rob’s celebration was the first one that featured some intense flooding! With the road closures and persistent rain we had to experiment and make the best out of the situation. Luckily The Water Witch Club has so much character and the most lovely porch for photos. But I also have to thank Amy and Rob for jumping into the rain with me and capturing some killer night shots at the end of the night! I always say rain can be magical, we just have to embrace it:)
Amy mentioned that she loves Rob for his humor, his generosity and ability to see the best in every situation and person. I remember Rob being an absolute champ and dealing with all the vendor delays on the day and yet he kept his cool and at the end of the day all that mattered was seeing Amy for the first time on that porch.
I have to say a huge thank you to Amy and Rob for letting me document your story and for being vulnerable in front of my camera:) I’ve witnessed so many beautiful touching moments on your wedding day and this is exactly why I love what I do so much!

Ari and Becca met each other during admitted students weekend in college! These two knew early on that they were in it for the long haul - it felt like they had known each other forever they admit. They moved in together during college, and then decided to apply to grad schools together. They both ended up at the University of Michigan, adopted a couple of cats, Ari proposed shortly after and the rest is history!:)
Ari and Becca, when I was going through your wedding gallery to pick the top photos from your day to really showcase all the joy and emotions experienced by all it was ridiculously hard because there was just so much:) From your beautiful ceremony to some of the most hilarious speeches by your siblings ending with everyone having a blast on the dancefloor - it was pure fun! Also, ending the night with waffles is strongly recommended to everybody:)

Read MoreBowery Hotel Wedding Photos - Patti & Lu
Obsessed with this gorgeous couple and all the special moments from their Bowery Hotel wedding celebration! Patti and Lu are the definition of a modern partnership and it makes me so happy that their relationship goes so deep and their wedding represents more than just a one day party but their lifelong commitment to each other. As always, I love to let my couples describe their relationship so here are a few words from Patti:
“Lu and I met during college in November 2007 at a "Friendsgiving" that our maid of honor, Amanda, was hosting in Brooklyn for those who weren't going home for Thanksgiving. We had pretty instant chemistry and went on a date a few days later and have been together ever since :) I think what is one of the most important things after being together for almost 11 years is that we still really like each other and at the very base of it all, are still best friends at the core. We've gone through ups and downs like every other couple, but at the end of each day, we choose each other. We've grown up together through alot of life events (studying abroad apart, graduating college, first jobs, law school, etc) and thus understand the importance of partnership.
Lu will joke that his favorite thing about me is my (bad) singing and my favorite thing about him is his insane productivity (he designed all the invites, stds, menus, etc by himself because he enjoys design as a hobby even though he's a lawyer by trade) but ultimately I think that we both like making each other laugh and there's a sense of comfort when we're close together where our anxiety fades and we just know 'everything will be OK' if we got each other. We're so integrated in each other's lives at this point, that it feels like Lu is as part of me as is my arm or leg. It's a wonderful feeling to have such a deep friendship and partnership with someone :)”
Read MoreArrow Park Wedding, Monroe NY - Amanda & Cody
This day was so special for me! First of all, Arrow Park is one of these magical hidden gems I almost got married in myself:) This venue is gorgeous, vast and feels like an elevated camping spot with lake views and a beautiful house in the middle of all the lush greenery. It also offers a large barn style venue for a large party. Personally, I was looking for an intimate space and they have a gorgeous room in the main house to accommodate a smaller party as well:)
Now the main stars of the day were Amanda and Cody, of course! Their love is so genuine and they can’t help but show it through every little touch and glance. It’s always so rewarding capturing a strong bond like their. One of the sweetest moments of the day was Amanda helping Cody do his hair as he sat blindfolded not to spoil the first look because that’s just want they do on a regular basis!
It was a day full of memories of loved ones who couldn’t be there but most importantly celebrating family and friends who could be there to support Amanda and Cody!
Thank you Amanda and Cody for letting me capture it all:)

I am back from Japan and ready to share all the warm Summer/Fall weddings from last year! First up is JJ and Fred’s golden sunset celebration at the picturesque Liberty House Restaurant. One of these magical days that started with a downpour and us hiding in the hotel getting some awesome indoor shots of JJ and her girls. JJ and Fred opted to skip the first look and Fred’s reaction was priceless during their ceremony as JJ walked out with her dad. The skies completely cleared and we got the most amazing golden light for their portraits after the ceremony.
JJ and Fred share their love for good music and travel and one of their favorite things to do is to chill at home and watch movies with their dog Clark. Clark, of course, made an appearance during the ceremony looking absolutely adorable and overwhelmed by all the attention:)

When Rosie and Andrew met each other it was during a yoga class at Bhakti Center. Getting married on the rooftop of that same yoga center seemed like a perfect thing to do and let me tell you I was so excited for these two! We met over coffee and they told me all about their vision for their warm, magical and spiritual celebration in the place that brought them together. It honestly sounded amazing but it turned out even better:) It was a perfect July evening for an intimate gathering of friends and family. We ended up exploring the nearby streets for some colorful East Village portraits and went straight back to the rooftop to witness Rosie and Andrew exchange their vows.
Thank you Rosie and Andrew for making me part of your laid back celebration! I am in awe of the depth of your connection with each other and the calmness you exude.
