Naomi and Brian are both from Northern Ireland but now live in Belfast and decided to skip a big celebration and instead elope in NYC:) They met on Twitter and started chatting off about Strictly Come Dancing and eventually met in person. Over 4 years later Naomi and Brian tied the knot on possibly one of the rainiest days this whole year:) These two were so easy going and so in love and we all got totally soaked that day! I don't think this blog would be complete without a quote from Naomi and Brian:

When you have a couple who met at only 17 while working in a mall in Brisbane, Australia you know you are lucky to capture their love story. Karah and Scott got engaged during their first trip to New York and they both fell in love with the vibrant city. The decision to come back and get married in Brooklyn was an easy one. It was a day full of unexpected delays but, like I told Karah and Scott, I love the unexpected and promised it would all be great no matter what. And it was;)

It's time to share some winter love stories on the blog:) How about a couple who after years of not seeing each other met at a breakfast with a friend and found out they both had male boxers named Gus?! Meant to be for sure! I had a little adventure with Katie and Daniel back in December. These two came all the way from Australia after falling in love with the big city on a prior trip. We met up in Central Park and we climbed some rocks, drove around the city in yellow cabs, were trapped by tourists on the High Line and finally made it to City Hall for their ceremony:) To celebrate we hiked the Brooklyn Bridge for some final photos!

When two Aussies get eloped in NYC and I get to document the process magic happens! Couldn't be happier with how everything turned out although we spent half the time in traffic:) I love when couples let me document a few moments in the hotel room beforehand and you can just see and feel all the excitement and anticipation! This was also my first time photographing an elopement ceremony near Gapstow Bridge in Central Park. I have to admit it's one of my favorite spots now:) It's quite hidden from the crowds and yet you can still see the city skyscrapers! We finished our session all the way in Brooklyn with the best city views in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

This year I had the pleasure of traveling to Ireland and little did I know but Michelle and Stewart are Irish! I found that out on their wedding day here in NYC two weeks before my travels and naturally I said we should all meet up in Dublin when I come to Ireland! The most amazing thing is we met by chance in a completely different town of Galway when these two spotted me in a local restaurant! It's a small world and sometimes plans don't work out but life just happens in the most random way and meetings like this happen:) Needless to say, I have the best memories from Michelle and Stewart's elopement! It was a day full of love, champagne toasts, some rain and lots of smiles:)

Lisa and Hunter had a beautiful touching ceremony in Avalon Park, Long Island back in June and I am thrilled to finally share their elopement photos here. Their ceremony was so intimate and so full of unique touches including a handfasting ceremony which is an old celtic tradition. They had their closest friends and family there and it was truly an honor to witness these two get married. I could feel the excitement and happiness radiate from everyone present! Following the ceremony Lisa and Hunter organized the most epic sparkler/smoke bomb exit so scroll down to see some of the fun moments:) Happy 2 month anniversary to these two!

The best 2 hours I spent photographing in December was during this fun elopement session with Megan and Mark! I just loved their energy and quirky personalities:) Sometimes I forget how exciting it must be to be an ocean away from your home and get married with your photographer being the only witness:) I could certainly feel and see that excitement shared between these two lovebirds! And how lucky we were with this incredibly warm sunny weather in December! Happy 1 month anniversary, Megan and Mark!

Veronika and Hiren's love story is truly international! Hiren is Indian born in UAE and Veronika is German and they found each other in Abu Dhabi almost a decade ago. There is probably not a better place to elope than NYC for a couple like that:) Having visited Abu Dhabi earlier this year it was kinda awesome to have a mental picture of where they met and I was excited to document their wedding here in New York. As different as these two are they have one thing in common and it is their love and affection for each other! I couldn't help but notice how goofy and light-hearted Veronika and Hiren were with each other which was the best thing to capture. Veronika's laughter was infectious:)! We picked the High Line in West Village for their portraits and I am kinda obsessed with how cool and urban this off-the-beaten path neighborhood is! Congrats once again, Veronika and Hiren!

I think it was the first time a couple booked me to photograph their elopement literally the day before:) It was spontaneous and super fun! Kath and Matt were on the trip of their lifetime and they decided to surprise everyone at home (England) by officially eloping while in NYC. Kath and Matt were inspired by the back streets and graffiti walls of New York so I had to make sure we visit some cool alleys:) We ended the session by sipping on a cold beer at a nearby bar/restaurant because (did I mention?) it was the hottest day of the year!! What a perfect fun filled day!

I never really believed in online dating until I started shooting weddings. It turns out so many of my couples found their love online. Olga and Javier are no exception. These two opted for a private elopement at the New York City Hall followed by a photo session in Central Park. I love working with couples who have a vision for their wedding photos and Olga and Javier were wonderful collaborators. We took a stroll around the lake stopping by the iconic Bethesda Fountain and we found some gorgeous blossoming cherry trees. However, Olga and Javier were most excited about the lake and the row boats after seeing some of my other photos taken on the lake. Unfortunately, the boathouse was closing earlier but it didn’t stop us. The guys at the boathouse were so kind to let the newlyweds enjoy the boat ride after the closing hours and we got the shots we wanted:) Congratulations once again, Olga and Javier!

Shannon and Raphael decided to elope in Central Park a week after the proposal. "Why wait?", they both said smiling as we walked around the pond searching for cherry trees. The couple shared this moment with their closest family members who also helped make the bouquet and the beautiful floral headpieces. Congratulations, Shannon and Raphael! And thank you for making me a part of your spontaneous wedding:)
