It was 2020, City Hall was shut down and parties were non existent for the most part but couples still found a way to commemorate their love. Marina and Sean are no exception. They told me they live in Greenpoint and they have two great cats they want to be part of their wedding photos. A little at home session followed by an intimate ceremony in Fort Tryon Park was the perfect adventure for Marina and Sean at the end of one of the weirdest years of our lifetimes:)

I convinced myself it was important to do a review of our 2021 wedding photos and what I realized it’s totally impossible to showcase all of my favorites! To be clear, we have delivered around 25000 photos to our 2021 clients and each and every one was in some way special to them and to us because it was an important part of their story. What follows ahead is a very tiny snippet of all the joy, beauty, emotions, epic locations and most importantly amazing people who trusted us to document their most important relationships and moments!

My 2020 started with this gorgeous celebration at the Palm House in Brooklyn Botanic Gardens!

Catherine and Tyler saw each other for the first time in the snow filled gardens but we quickly changed the scenery to more tropical and desert vibes for their portraits! I think having these unique green spaces is one of the reasons I love BBG so much for weddings! You can really make some magic happen no matter the weather outside.

“The biggest stand out memory I have from the day of is the surge of adrenaline and nerves that I felt as the morning progressed until the very moment I would see my future husband for first look photos. The moment I was with him and holding his hand, I felt safe and comfortable like I could conquer the world. Here is a very special laidback backyard wedding which is a perfectly timed inspiration for all of you currently planning outdoor weddings! But besides all the gorgeous details I want to highlight all of the beautiful moments from the day. I don’t think two people can be more excited to be married then this couple!

With so many couples choosing to reimagine their wedding celebrations in 2020 and opting for outdoor ceremonies and tented receptions I thought it would be the perfect time to remember some of the beautiful backyard weddings I got to document in the past couple of years. This is a reminder that your own backyard can certainly be a beautiful place to gather but also gives you the freedom to be imaginative and creative. From lawn games to chilling by a pool with your guests to serving beers from a back of an old truck having a backyard wedding gives you so many opportunities to do it your way!

Waited too long to share the sweetest intimate wedding of Christina and Andrew at Ladies Pavilion a little over a year ago! Love these two for their goofiness and adventurous spirits.

Here is a look back at all the small and big celebrations of 2020! It was a testing year for all of us and I am so grateful for all of my couples for celebrating love in these weird times:)

Erica and Ryan had an epic wedding day complete with getting ready at the bad ass William Vale Residence, strolling to a local oyster bar for some cocktails with their guests and then leading the second line parade down the streets of Brooklyn to their ceremony and reception at Aurora Brooklyn. One of the most unique wedding experiences I’ve documented in Brooklyn:)
