Although Laura and Jonathan said their story is a classic "boy meets girl in law school kind of story" there is a twist:) After 5 years of being apart they finally met again at a wedding:) "It was there that they finally reconnected … sort of. Jon's heart stopped when he spotted Laura across the room in her little pink dress, and he spent the remainder of the evening attempting to make up for lost time. Everything appeared to be going so well, that is, until Laura’s surprise date showed up at the after party. It seemed that fate would have them waiting a little longer.
A few months later, Jon and Laura found themselves heading north on I-87, her Honda Fit (The Midnight Marauder) packed to the brim with their snowboards, boots, and a weekend’s worth of winter clothes. The trip to Vermont flew by as they shared one another’s stories, and Laura schooled Jon on old school 90’s hip hop, and the merits of electronic music (and her corresponding dance injuries like "techno knee"). By the time they reached the mountain, they both suspected that this friendship which had eluded them for so many years might have been worth the wait.
Fast forward to the summer when they embarked on their first international trip together, a make it or break it trip for the new couple, as Laura would call it. The destination: a Serengeti safari in Tanzania. After sleeping through roaring lions outside their tent and testing out Jon's newly certified diving skills, Laura's belief that Jon was a keeper was confirmed. A new injury to trusty techno knee threatened to strand them in Zanzibar. As Jon carried Laura across the beach, and later to their plane back to the mainland, Laura knew Jon would forever be a true partner, her ride or die. :)
This was one of many adventures they would share together. From New Orleans, to Panama, to Egypt, each trip brought Jon and Laura closer together, taught them to rely on one another, and ultimately inspired them to take the next step in their lifelong journey together. They made it official somewhere between the Jordanian desert, the Dead Sea, and a guest house in Beirut."
